This is a really interesting and challenging puzzle game. The increasing difficulty levels really ramp it up and force you to be very strategic in both the tactical gameplay and with your long term build. Even then, overcoming the game's final challenge requires a significant amount of luck as well as precisely calculated play. The only thing is that the computer sometimes deliberately misplays, but you couldn't win otherwise. Kudos to the developer for making a pretty cool game.

(1) I'm bad at this game, but it's very fun. (2) That said, my official review is that it should probably have portrait mode. (3) This is just me being bad, but I find that I instinctively press "GO" for some reason when I haven't actually prepared my pieces yet, and that kills a lot of games. (4) Being able to toggle off or faster boss and promotion animations would be really nice. (5) I'd imagine this is hard to fix, but the lengthy start-up time is a bit painful.

Honestly I am a mix of love and hate with this game there is a lot of unique and actually very well done things. Good: the game looks and plays very well and has unique bosses and abilities and art on both sides Bad the game HEAVLY realies on rng on everything and I play a large amount of rouge likes and honestly this is the most rng one I have played yet. building anything can be extremely irritating as your build one turn is amazing then next you might as well have just empty pawns.

Gambonanza is about shaping each run through Gambits, synergies, reserves, board upgrades, and boss prep, but luck also plays a role, and some builds can be quite challenging.
